AirPods Max noise cancellation no longer effective

Hello! I bought AirPods Max on October 30, 2025. The noise cancellation was perfect. Now I can hear almost everything, specifically things I couldn't hear when I bought them. The problems have been going on for about a week.

Troubleshooting AirPods Noise Cancellation:


A. Start with an Update:

AirPods cannot be updated in standalone; this is because they are not assigned an IP Address. So, pair these to a device that itself is connected to the Internet. The firmware will install. Go here: About Firmware Updates for AirPods - Apple Support

“I have the latest update (I checked) mine are not dirty, but I can clearly hear voices in noise cancellation (the voices of people around me) I can hear the sound of tires when moving and just clicking my finger
