AirPods Pro default to half volume on MacBook Air

Hi there!

I recently got gifted an airpods pro by my parents. At first it worked and connected just fine. However, now whenever I connect my airpods to my macbook air, it connects automatically but defaults to half volume. This keeps happening even after I forget device and repaired it again through bluetooth. It just happens when I connect to my macbook air but for my iphone it connects just fine to the last volume setting. Please help as I always just have this fear when connecting my macbook air and it's very bothersome and hurts my ears when music plays and in half the volume (I usually set it to 20-30%)

AirPods Pro Default to Half Volume on MacBook Air:

A. Turn Off the Personalized Volume:

  1. Pair: your AirPods to your MacBook Air.
  2. Go to: System Settings (or System Preferences).
  3. Click On: your AirPods' name in the sidebar (scroll down, if needed).
  4. Toggle Off: Personalized Volume

B. Update the AirPods Firmware: Ensure both your MacBook Air and AirPods have the latest software updates installed. AirPods cannot be updated on their own. This is because they do not have the ability to be assigned an IP Address.

C. Check Headphone Accommodations

  1. Go to: System Settings (or System Preferences)
  2. Click: Accessibility
  3. Click: Audio & Visual
  4. Click: Headphone Accommodations
  5. Check and Adjust: settings (i.e. Transparency Mode).

D. Reset the AirPods:

Go Here: How to Reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

E. Re-Pair These:

They may just not connecting properly. So, use these sites, respectively.
