Try to make sure all devices are set up the same.

Fetch is a client-initiated method where your email application or device periodically checks the mail server for new messages at a set interval.

Action: The email client (e.g., your phone's mail app) actively goes to the server and fetches the new mail.

Timing: Retrieval happens on a schedule you define, such as every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, or manually (only when you open the app).

Immediacy: You experience a slight delay in receiving the email, as you only see it when the next scheduled check occurs.

Battery/Data: This method is generally considered more battery-friendly than Push because the connection to the server isn't constantly kept open; the device only wakes up for the scheduled check.

Push (Often Confused with "Pull")

"pull," in the context of email retrieval, the modern and most comparable alternative to "fetch" is Push.

Action: The mail server automatically sends (pushes) new emails to your device as soon as they arrive.

Timing: Retrieval happens in real-time or nearly instantly.

Immediacy: You receive a notification almost immediately after the sender hits "Send."

Battery/Data: This method requires the email client to maintain an open or persistent connection with the server, which can sometimes use more battery and data, especially in areas with poor network reception.
