Subject: Request to remove Activation Lock — I am the current owner (Apple ID locked, ADP recovery key lost)

Hello Apple Support,

I am the current, lawful owner of an iPhone that is showing Activation Lock. I purchased this device second-hand and the previous owner had already removed their Apple ID before I received it. After setting up the phone under my Apple ID, I later forgot my Apple ID password and I no longer have the 28-character Advanced Data Protection recovery key.
