Recovering lost email folders after wiping iPhone

I attended an appointment at Apple yesterday, after which I had to wipe my phone clean and reinstall all my apps. However, I have since discovered that my email folders, which serve as a backup, are now devoid of content. Is there a method to recover my email information and restore it to its original folders, or has it been lost for good?
