Photos app can't do "Import All new items" since the iPhone immediately gets disconnected

Mac mini M4 - macOS 15.6.1

iPhone 13 pro - IOS 26.0.1

I have started importing all my photo library from my phone using the Photos app for the first time.

Roughly in the middle, the upload stopped.

Once I restart the import process, the phone disappears (connection lost) and reappears a moment later (Check out the video link).

I tried:

repairing the Photos app
restarting the mac
restarting the phone

Issue fixed,

By a suggestion from a redditor, I have done the same thing via Image Capture app, and got the actual error msg. with the file name cuasing the issue.

The issue was with one of the files that was captured, and couldn't be copied. I deleted the file and the problem was solved.

How are you connecting the iPhone to the Mini? If it's wireless try connecting with the iPhone's charging cable. That is faster, more reliable and gives you more options like using Image Capture do download photos from the iPhone to wherever you want, the Photos library or a folder.
