"White spots on MacBook Air screen: I dropped my MacBook Air, and now there's a small dent in the corner and white spots on the edge of the dent. Can I fix this myself or have it repaired?"

White Spots on Mac After Dropping it:

What happens when you take a screenshot, and then view it in the Photos app? Do you see these dots?

• If so, then it is a software issue, and you can try reinstalling the macOS, by backing it up first with Time Machine Backup.
• If not, then it is a hardware issue, and you should get this serviced. But, if old, and obsolete, I'd see about get a new Mac(if applicable), rather than paying a boatload to get this serviced. You'd back up your Mac, and then and transfer things using Migration Assistant.

You don't provide the exact model of your Mac, nor any pictures showing the issue. Are the white spots on the LCD or in the metal dent? See.....your post is confusing & lacking details.
