When I use visual intelligence it states I must be 13 years or older to use ChatGPT. I have tried changing my age via my on device Apple account as well as Apples website from 1987 to 1986 which works momentarily, but reverts back after a short while restricting my use again. Is this a bug? Thank you.

I had the same issue on my iPhone where I couldn't use Visual Intelligence because the system said I had to be at least 13 years old. Both my Apple ID and my ChatGPT account already had my correct age, so the message made no sense.
I finally found the cause:
iCloud → Apple ID → Personal Information → Age Group for Apps
The setting "Share with Apps" was not set to Always.
After switching it to Always, Visual Intelligence started working immediately.
That doesn’t really help. It just shows another error message like “Cannot get response from ChatGPT”, or “Quota exceeded” at random.
Given both Apple and ChatGPT have my age as I’m signed in on both, it seems an unnecessary warning.
I understand it. very useful and it works. i hope that find a way to suppress this initial warning 😒
