You already know your answer.

Apple does not maintain a full-time staff to validate the millions of phishing messages coursing thru the sewers of the internet.

Forward any eMail impersonating Apple as an attachment to:

reportphishing@apple.com

Screenshot and forward texts as an attachment to the same address.

  • Is this legit
  • Who do I call to find out if stuff like this is legit or not?

I received a text from Apple Pay saying I had paid $198.58, Transaction #: TRX-68D****610, Invoice #: 9N**-**78-LK, Date: 10/31/25, Contact #: 1 828 ***-**30.

I called this number & got someone with a thick African accent. She mentioned another recent transaction for over $800.

  1. Is this legit?
  2. Who do I call to find out if stuff like this is legit or not?

Thanks.
