Ultrawide 49" display issue with M2 Mac Mini

I am trying to achieve the native display of 5120x1440 on my AGON PD40 49" OLED Ultrawide on my 2023 M2 Mac Mini 8GB but the max resolution via HDMI is 3840x1080.

Is this merely due to the type of cable being used or is it inherently not possible?

I am using the supplied HDMI.

Can it only be achieved using USBC to DP (high speed)?

Any help appreciated so I can enjoy the screen to its fullest.

Stick with the high speed USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

The standard M2 Mac mini model only supports 4K at 60Hz from the HDMI port.
