When attempting to connect an AirTag to my iPhone 16 pro max with iOS 26 installed it tells me to review and update my Apple account security. I have checked every setting I can think of. I have restarted my phone. Reseated the AirTag battery. What am I missing?
Is this a brand new AirTag which has not been installed on your AppleAccount previously ?
Also, do you indeed have 2FA for your Apple Account and FaceID enabled ?

Yes it’s a brand new AirTag and yes I had two factor authentication enabled
