I can’t find a Mark up option (to use my Apple Pencil) in the Photos app on my iPad Pro, though I have it on the Google Photos app and on my iPhone 17 Pro Photos app. I’ve tried shutting down and Restart but it makes no difference.
Both devices are updated to IOS 26.1
Any suggestions to resolve this issue will be appreciated.

In iPadOS 26.0.1, tap the "3 lines icon", to the left of the ⓘ icon in the upper right toolbar, then tap the markup icon in the upper right.

That “newish” icon — which replaced “Edit”
— “threw” a lot of folks when it was introduced relatively recently.
Even now, every time I go to use it, I STILL think of an audio equalizer.
