Apple Pencil in Pages App (Do not want to use Scribble)

Hi,

Is it possible to use the Apple Pencil in Pages without Scribble being on? Like quick notes with my Apple pencil, but with Apple Pages. Is it possible to do this without having to make a drawing square? I have tried everything, from turning the Apple pencil settings in Pages to allow the pencil to do more than scroll, but to no avail. I am really hoping that this is something I can do inside the Pages app, and not just quick notes.
