access usb device on Mac Book Pro

just got a refurbished Mac Book Pro and need to access my usb manual for my ATV......

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

O.k, and what is the issue exactly?

As with all computers, Macs and PCs, USB drives should appear in the file manager. On Mac that is the Finder.

Your tag line says that you have a 15" MacBook Pro. Assuming that is correct, that would make it an Intel-based model. So you shouldn't be running into the following "security" hurdle:
