Why My iMac 2017 4k internal pcie ssd not detected after Boot camp windows updates
the short story what happened to this iMac 2017 4K:
Last year I got the chance to upgrade the imac with 32GB Ram, 2TB SATA SSD and original Apple 1TB Pcie M2 SSD (Polaris)(the original config is 8GB Ram+32GB PCIE SSD +1TB mechanical HDD as fusion). I installed Mac OS Ventura on internal apple 1tb pcie M2 SSD and later on I used Ventura Boot camp assistance to install Windows 11 (24H2) successfully on same apple ssd (It seems I was not allowed to install windows on 2TB SATA SSD). I hane no ability to connect/put newly replaced 2 disks as one fusionThe mac sitted in the corner for a few months.
last Week, I turned on the system without option and the Mac enter into Windows 11 sucessfully and I let Widows to update automatically from Microsoft. The updates were not sucessful and it came out with a short blue screen and dead.
I tried to boot and it came out a apple question mark, means no operating systems any more (Ventura and Win 11)
I call apple support and reload the Ventura but my original PCIE apple 1 tb ssd was not detected under recovery disk utility and I have to loaded the system to 2 TB sata ssd which was reconized.
I used an external USB windows to go to boot to Windows and I still cannot find 1 TB apple PCIE ssd with disk management.
One of my friends told me that mayne your apple pcie ssd was killed by Microsoft windows updated since there was an critical windows uptate issue to kill some brand SSDs not long time ago
Apple suuport arranged me to visit local apple store and apple technician reinstall the system and still cannot locate my missing 1tb apple pcie SSD.
is any method to find this missing/not detected apple pcie SSD?
Please Help!!!
Thanks a lot,
Thomas
