Siri not speaking after iOS 18 update

whenever i ask siri a question, it doesn’t really answer. it does, but instead of speaking/saying it, it only shows the text.

e.g., Hey, Siri! Can you beatbox?

the only thing it shows is text. it doesn’t say anything, only text appeared
