iPad iOS 26.0.1 update Predictive Text / Emojis not working with Apple hardware keyboard

My iPad magnetically clips into an Apple manual keyboard so I can use it like a PC. Since the update I no longer have predictive text line for either text or emojis. This works when I remove my iPad from the manual keyboard and use the screen keyboard. It used to work perfectly with the manual keyboard before the update. I have tried checking that emojis and predictive text are set up in the manual keyboard area of settings. They are. I’ve tried the usual switching off and on again. There is no reset function on my manual keyboard and it’s not connected via blue tooth so that is not an option.

I can confirm that exactly this same problem occurs on my iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (6th generation), used with an Apple Magic Keyboard. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting methods you mentioned (power-cycle iPad, check other keyboard-related settings), and went as far as to reset the keyboard dictionary (Settings > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset Keyboard Dictionary). None of this worked. This is pretty clearly (to me) a bug, and is extremely frustrating; hopefully Apple issues an update/patch soon.
