iPod Gen 6 unexpectedly ejecting during sync.

So, now I have nothing. I unchecked the song on which the iPod froze before it self ejected and then I connected it again.

It displayed "Software: Loading" for 45 minutes. so I disconnected.

I went to Disk Utility and ran First Aid. First Aid reported "File system verify failed -69845" so I went to "Restore" which displayed iPod Recovery mode.

I renamed the iPod and reconnected.

It's there on my desktop but doesn't appear in Music. I can find no where to press "Sync" in the sidebar either.

Restarted the Mini.

I now have a fully charged iPod with Nada.

Oh Wait, it suddenly appears both in Music and the sidebar after a minute or so. Somewhere along the line I think I remember downloading iPod software.

I'm syncing and I only have 11,963 songs to upload but it’s loading much faster than any other attempts.

Isn't this exciting?

When the syncing failed I was connected with a OWC docking dongle. I’ve now got it connected via to my M1 Mac Mini via a USB to C adapter and will try again. If it works I’ll post again below.

• I note that is syncing a lot of songs that are already on the iPod. Why is that?

Well it froze at song 822 of 975, then ejected. I had 17.82 GB of space left.

It certainly did better connected to the Mini vs the OWC.

Now what?

I'm done, same deal, froze at song 2,955 of 11,963. Same work arounds. Restart, and all the rest.

I reckon this window will last all day. And I have other things to do.
