iPod Gen 6 unexpectedly ejecting during sync.

This iPod has a new fully charged battery. I connect directly to my M1 Mac Mini via a USB to C adapter.

the iPod is set to automatically sync when its connected. I observe the progress in my desktop sidebar. I’ve got "Sync only checked songs" selected. I’m pretty sure this pod has a 125GB SSD.

The progress seems normal and then it suddenly disconnects.

I’ve got 2 other iPods and managed to update them so I don’t know what the problem is.

Please advise.

So, now I have nothing. I unchecked the song on which the iPod froze before it self ejected and then I connected it again.

It displayed "Software: Loading" for 45 minutes. so I disconnected.

I went to Disk Utility and ran First Aid. First Aid reported "File system verify failed -69845" so I went to "Restore" which displayed iPod Recovery mode.

I renamed the iPod and reconnected.

It's there on my desktop but doesn't appear in Music. I can find no where to press "Sync" in the sidebar either.

Restarted the Mini.

I now have a fully charged iPod with Nada.

Oh Wait, it suddenly appears both in Music and the sidebar after a minute or so. Somewhere along the line I think I remember downloading iPod software.

I'm syncing and I only have 11,963 songs to upload but it’s loading much faster than any other attempts.

Isn't this exciting?
