How to resolve iPhone photo transfer issues with Windows 10?

If I take a screenshot, crop it, save to my phone and then transfer it to computer USB cable. why does it show the original and then the cropped photo in the folder on the iPhone. I don't want it to do that.

Also when I right click and select move to , to take a photo from the iPhone to a folder in the computer it still has the photo on my iPhone gallery. Why? I just selected move not copy

It's hard for us to know what you mean by "show the original and then the cropped photo in the folder on the iPhone." Are you saying that the export creates a folder on the phone? Is that in Photos or in Files, or what? You didn't say how you transfer these pictures-- what app do you use?

This is what Apple says:

Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC - Apple Support

This is what Microsoft says (I can't believe I'm referring to a Microsoft link!):

Microsoft import-photos-and-video s-from-an-iphone-to-pc

Photos is a non-destructive editor. That means that the original picture file remains un-touched, so there are two versions of pictures available for export. That's why an app must be used to instruct Photos what to export. Some apps might give you both.

You also didn't say if you use iCloud Photos or if you use "Optimize Storage" on your phone.

It's whatever folders are on the phone when you plug it into the computer via USB. I'm just transferring directly from the iPhone to the desktop, not using any software, going into the iPhone files. If you have a recommendation on software maybe that would make things easier.

Yeah that's what I mean there's two copies was hoping there would be a setting to turn that off. So when I crop the screenshot and save it it would automatically not save the original uncropped .

No iCloud and and I believe I'm not doing anything with optimized storage.
