Apple has an entirely unfair subscription cancellation and refund policy.

Several years ago I used a product called Carista with an ODB-II adapter I have for my car. It worked beautifully. But I didn't continue the subscription. I decided to resubscribe because I knew the product worked well and paid about sixty bucks for a year. I installed the app and discover it no longer works with my device even though it used to. I am left with a choice to pay more money to Carista for. their adapter or to cancel the subscription and look for an alternate product. However, Apple refuses to refund the subscription even under these circumstances. Even speaking with Senior Analysts, I am led to believe that they have no process in place to reach anyone to reconsider the refund. If their billing department wants to be unfair and unresponsive, that is their choice.

In most cases all purchases in the App Store are final. At times, Apple may offer a compassionate refund, but it should never be expected. You are free to use whatever platform you wish, it really makes no difference to anyone here. If you think another platform will yield different results, you may want to view the same reports over on their support forum. Here are a couple, but there are many others just like yours that say they are moving to the iPhone because their refund was not granted.


Carista does recommend to use their own adapter (white one) in the App Description and lists some third party OBD-II adapters as supported with more viewable on their website. Apparently they have dropped support for your adapter. You can write a review for the app in the App Store to make other potential users aware. This will also alert the developer who would prefer to resolve a problem, then have others see a negative review from a customer who found the service no longer works for them. Maybe they will give you a discount on a purchase of one of their adapters.
