Distorted sound with PreSonus ioStation 24c on Mac mini M4 back USB-C ports (but not front)

I have a Mac mini M4 running Sequoia 15.6.1. When connecting my PreSonus ioStation 24c (firmware v3.71), I have Universal Control v4.7.0.106978 installed. I’m experiencing distorted audio when playing media and when audio interface is connected with the back ports using:

  • the original cable with an Apple USB-C to USB adapter
  • Using a USB-C 3 cable on the back ports

However, when I connect the ioStation 24c to the front port of the Mac mini M4 (with the USB-C 3 cable), it works correctly without distortion.

Anyone else share this problem or is having issues with sound when your interface is connected to the back ports of the M4 Mac Mini?

HDMI cable ( connected to LG Monitor), ORICO MiniLink 40Gbps powered device, Apple USBC adapter connected to a Kemper Profiler Rack (However had this one off during test). All devices getting power from Adam Hall power conditioner. I was previously using a Komplete Audio 6 with the same adapter I tested the ioStation24c with and was working fine.

But then don't get why it works well with the front ports.
