Unable to complete gift card purchase from Apple Account balance

I tried to gift a friend a gift card from my Apple account balance but purchase couldn’t be completed.

What can i do for the payment to be completed? Help

Apple doesn't allow gifts to be bought with store credit. Put in a different payment method.
