A locked file cannot be unlocked and also cannot be moved to trash bin.

I'm trying to delete two large files on my computer that somehow have been locked. I have tried to unlock them via the Get Info dialog box, but cannot unlock them. The files also cannot even be moved to the Trash Bin. I've also tried using the Terminal app to delete them, but to no success. Can someone please teach me how to move these files to the trash and delete them?

How exactly did you try to delete them in Terminal?

Did you use the following command:

sudo rm -rf <the files name>

The "sudo" will invoke administrative root privilege for the file removal operation and prompt for your administrator password.
