I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and without a screen protector. I've dropped it several times, even on my concrete driveway, and have not even seen a scratch on it, let alone a crack in the screen or anywhere else.

Unfortunately when disaster strikes, that’s when you’ll want to have AppleCare+ for some peace of mind. If you wisely purchased it beforehand, a screen replacement would be a mere $29. I also purchased the iPhone 16 Pro Max and have had no issues with the screen, in fact I have a good screen protector on it which I hope you did.

Then the damage is likely more than just a screen replacement for $400 with AppleCare+, possibly damage to the front camera. But you also didn’t say whether you had a screen protector on the iPhone along with the case. Once you get it repaired, be sure to buy a good quality screen protector. Otherwise there’s nothing we can do about it.

Mine is the same. Less than 3 months. Not dropped. Today I noticed it is cracked right next to the new phone activation button. It also cracked right where you plug the power cable in. Apple should be looking into this and offering free warranty replacements.

Maybe you should have invested in AppleCare+.
