How do I get rid of the banner saying “get started with Apple Pay” on my Apple Wallet?

Someone asked this question a while back then the discussion closed.

How do I get rid of the super-annoying banner in the wallet that says “get started with Apple Pay”? I hate it. I don’t even use Apple Pay. I want that banner gone. I’m overdue to update, but will only do it if they finally got rid of that banner. Every time they do an update it’s like they’re fixing things that weren’t broken.

That’s your Apple Wallet that holds boarding passes and insurance cards. That has nothing to do with Apple Pay. Two entirely different things.

Start the process of adding a payment card per the notification. Do not enter any details. You’ll get to a point where it offers a link to complete the process later. Click that link and close the Wallet app and your notifications to setup Apple Pay should quit.

Do you have any use for the Wallet app?

If not, you can delete it or just not open it.

If you start the process and quit partway through, it will probably leave you alone.

I DO use it for my car insurance card and boarding passes. I just have no use for Apple Pay. I was hoping I could just tap, hold, and move it to the bottom, out of sight, like we do when rearranging apps on the home screen. No such luck.

That was my first thought, but when i tried that it didn't work.

Oh well. I have more pressing problems of course. it's just annoying when you get used to something in iOS and then Apple throws in another thing to get you to use Apple Pay. Me to Apple: "I SAID NO, AND I MEAN NO". Ha. Well thank you :)

I know what Apple Pay is and how it works. I know they are 2 different things. I don't think I suggested at any time that they are related. I was just trying to get the banner out of my wallet. Thanks.
