Could not connect to Apple Pay to verify my identity to access DMV and MDL apps

I had the mobile ID in the mDL app wallet for 3 months now and pending in Apple wallet 6 months. This morning the app required update so I did so without error. Then the app wanted to update my ID, it did that a couple weeks ago without issue so I allowed it. It said do not close app so I did not. When I came back to my phone, it was still scrolling. After a few hours I closed the app after it said could not connect retry or start over. I tried reconnecting 3 times then tried start over. DMV apps won’t connect and I get the above error in Apple wallet. Ive delete and reinstalled the apps but get same error. I had to use a web browser other than safari just to be able to access the dmv website and follow their instructions but get same answers. Safari will not connect to dmv website. Someone please help. The digital ID has been invaluable to me.
