How do I resolve 'access to the source volume was denied' on MacBook Pro M4 when importing CDs?

I am getting the message: "Access to the source volume was denied. Check the System settings for removable volume access.", while trying to import CD's on a Macbook Pro M4. Before everyone says it, NO... going to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders > Music and making sure “Removable Volumes” is turned on does NOT work. It is already turned on. The problem persists. I have seen another person posting that they are having the same issue and the thread was closed with no solution. I did not have this issue with my Macbook Pro M1. I have tried 2 different external drives and Music won't read from either.

Didn't work. I have tried turning the setting off, rebooting, and turning back on w/ no success. I rebooted again after turning it back, and still now success. I updated to the recent OS update. The problem persists no matter what I do. I have become an unpaid beta tester for Apple, yet again.
