Why are my iPod playlists not showing on my 2020 iMac?

I have a 2020 Imac. When I hook my ipod up to it, it shows every song on my Ipod, but none of my playlists.

But when I look at the Ipod all the playlists are there. I can't seem to create any playlists on my ipod from the all the tunes on the ipod.

Music on iPod nano shows up under Apple Music but will not play My music is on my iPod nano, I connect to my MacBook Pro with MacOS 11.7.1 and launch Apple Music. Apple Music shows the iPod Nano as a connected device, as well as the music library (songs) thereon but cannot play any songs straight from the iPod.
