I have four email addresses and calendars and this morning after the auto-update to iOS 18.3, none of my emails are coming through on my phone. They are fine on my laptop. I have tried restarting, but I am not deleting the app and starting over like I have seen some suggesting from this happening in the past. Please advise as I am about to be away from my computer and use my phone for work emails!

2-10-25 - Hello all on here -- I just called Apple about this mail problem that happened when my IPhone updated to the IOS 18.3. I got ahold of someone in Canada who helped me to fix this & want to let other know how to do it on here.
***Go to you Mail app & it will show you all of your "Mailboxes" such as (All, ICloud, Outlook, gmail, aol, etc. **What you have to do is go to all of them that you get your emails thru, then open for Example (ICloud) & then in the upper right hand corner there are (3) dots -- Open that up & Check "LIST" instead of Categories and it will fix that email you have chosen, then go to all of the other emails you may have listed & do the same thing & switch it back to "LIST" and it should fix all of them. **Also if you have an IPad with the Mail App Icon, do the same on there too.
This young man who helped me was located with Apple in Canada -- and he said this is a new feature for IOS 18.3, and you have to go in & change it back to LIST if this happens. **Also, he said to go to Apple.com for any updates on any new IOS Software updates or anything else with Apple. So I hope this helps everyone to fix this problem for our mail - PH
I have reset app specific pw for outlook app, removed and reinstalled .me mail account, reset the app for sync, everything works fine in the Mail app, but Outlook app will no longer send / receive my .me account, Seems like I've tried everything including deleting the app and reinstalling all email accounts. .me is only problem. Hope there is a fix...
Thank you, thank you! Wow, what a simple fix for a downright unnecessary, annoying change! Thank god I waited to hear from you all before automatically deleting the app and reinstalling as the first response suggested do.
Apple is becoming Microsoft.......
Email is now akin to Outlook 365. Nothing is worse than email categories that result in missed meetings, and late responses.
Apple - look at MS Office and do the OPPOSITE!
The first thing I did when I saw the horror was get the EFF out of categories. Then my mail wouldn't sync in list view. When in doubt reboot - it worked!
Thank you so much!! I was having trouble because the little app icon wouldn’t show the number of my unopened emails and then I realized I just had to set EVERY email to “list” view. That fixed it. I don’t know why Apple did this when everything was fine with the email app before. Ugh.
So they’ve broken it by a releasing poorly thought out update, which has undergone minimal testing and to fix it users have to jump through hoops. This isn’t software support it’s just woeful incompetence. At the very least own up to it by letting all users know that the update is once again flawed and needs patching rather than making us trawl forums or have to call apple support to try to fix a problem that they’ve created! Would never have happened under Jobs!
Downloaded 18.13.1 last night and ‘sent’ emails are no longer downloading (Yahoo! Mail) but still able to view from iPad. Just coming up with message to say that they are not ‘downloading from the server’. They were absolutely fine before the update. Really infuriating because regularly needing to view emails received and sent from iPhone. Seems other people are having the same problem.
Have read and tried ALL of these suggestions, and NOTHING is working! Am getting message that there’s a problem with outgoing server on each email (I have 5 including gmail).
EVERYTHING was working perfectly last night. This is SO annoying. Apple needs to deal with the problem QUICKLY!
I had my update done last night and it’s doing the same. It says I have an account error and I’ve received no emails since the day I did the update. It says the connection to the server has failed. Can someone please help
Unfortunately nothing has worked for three of our users. Already tried deleting/re-adding accounts, restarting phone, turning off Bluetooth/wifi/cell. First thing I tried was changing it to "List" view for all accounts. Still just says "Checking for mail" as it slowly trickles in. Sending is also extremely slow and the Delay Send option has been disabled.
100% agree!! I’ve tried every trick in the book and suggestions to fix and nothing works! My phone was working perfectly before this update and as I have said previously, I have never had any real problems with previous updates and I think it would be too much of a coincidence to say that it is anything other than a glitch with the update! Apple needs to release a further update ASAP to rectify all these problems.
For me, the mail is coming through on my iPhone (IOS 18.3.2) but NOT on my iPad (iPadOS 18.3.2). There is no such thing on the iPad in the MAIL app of the ...list view/categories but only "show priority."
Apple needs to do a DOGE and cut 1/2 the staff. They spend too much time dreaming up unnecessary changes to the iOS. Then we we install, we have issues, like the one described here. All the new junk that is added just makes iOS storage needs get bigger and bigger. They need to slim it way down.
My emails are only yahoo & the format is showing emails under "unread" category ?? Only read are under
"All" category...also, I have to continue to turn off phone & back on to get current emails. I have an iPhone 11 Can this be fixed?? I depend on emails .
My category "yahoo" is showing empty also???
How simple! I’ve been fighting with this issue since the update and was VERY close to switching mail providers. Apple should have made this issue well known! My wife and I have the exact same iPhone and she isn’t having the problem. Thanks for your post.
