USB SuperDrive fails to read CDs on MacBook Pro

I have MacPro 2022. I was using my USB SuperDrive to read my CDs with no problem for the past many years. I connected the USB yesterday to my Mac to read some of my old external archives on CD, it failed to read. I was prompted that the "USB Accessory Needs Power Connect "Apple USB..." to a USB port on this Mac"..... What changed? It's worth noting that all my accessories are Apple products. SOS! Thank you

There are three variations (two Intel, and one Apple Silicon) of the 2020 MacBook Pro. Although this shouldn't matter as all of them have USB-C ports. As such, are you using a hub or adapter to connect your Apple SuperDrive to your Mac laptop? Which make & model, of either, are you using?

What isn't a bit clear about your post is have you been using the SuperDrive with this Mac successfully over the years, or that you had been using it with another Mac, and then, tried using it with this laptop when the issue began. Would you please clarify that for us?

Also, can the drive read any other CDs, just not these particular ones? ... and have you tried using this drive with another Mac?
