OWC is another option:

I cannot get the exact model from the Axxxx designation, so I don't know the exact model laptop you have. You can get the exact model by clicking the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac".

FYI, if it is a Retina model laptop, then the batteries are glued in and can be very difficult to replace. In fact OWC recommends having the battery replaced by a professional.

It is so annoying that iPhones & iPads always rotate pictures 90º regardless of how the device is held when taking a picture.

I have no idea why that happens so frequently on this site but here are two pictures I just took with my iPhone. The first is with the iPhone upright and the second is with it held sideways.

I did nothing to them, just AirDropped to the Mac. Latest iOS / macOS versions etc.

🤷🏻‍♂️

That Mac was discontinued over eight years ago so Apple will no longer officially provide support for it, though an independent service center might replace the battery for you. Otherwise you'll need to just shop around. The "fixit" sites, to which we are not allowed to provide links, can provide instructions and in some cases parts.

Given how old that Mac is, I'm not sure I'd spend any money on it if it were mine. Up to you, though.

Regards.

Going by the model number in the subject line, it's a MacBook Pro "Core Duo" 2.16 15" introduced in 2006. Whether that's the correct model number I don't know. Perhaps the OP will post back and confirm or give us the correct information.

Definitely. Just doing a general web search for A1250 pointed to the model I referenced, but on closer examination that appears to be incorrect. So we do indeed need to know specifically what model the OP has. Though the options are pretty much the same: try Apple or an authorized Apple service center, or do a web search looking for an unauthorized source that would sell the battery (not recommended since there's no way to be sure that one is getting a valid, trustworthy battery, but up to the OP).

According to the MacTracker app a MBPro 2,1 is a MacBook Pro 17" (Core 2 Duo), but according to the OWC compatibility list for their battery product page....they give it a designation of MacBook Pro 17" (Late-2006) that is more in line with Apple's later way of designating models. Here is the OWC battery for your laptop:

As @varjak paw mentioned, iFixIt is also an option (the only other good option), but we cannot link to them as the moderators will remove the link and/or post.

Thanks for correcting my mistake. Obviously I didn't see the number one as it blended into the text as I was reading it sideways. It is so annoying that iPhones & iPads always rotate pictures 90º regardless of how the device is held when taking a picture.

@abraham238.... OWC recommends having a professional replace the battery since it is not easy to do. I've seen lots of posts on this forum where the user accidentally damaged their laptop trying to remove the old battery in these Retina models. Definitely watch the OWC installation video on the product page....the video makes it look easier than it really is.
