I previously had a games credit balance of around $52 for a number of years and after a recent software update my credit balance is now $0. I haven’t bought anything though.

Can you go to the app store, tap on your profile image in the upper right corner, and open your purchase history?
Do you see a recent purchase in the list that can explain where your $52 is?
Thankyou so much. The payment wasn't showing up in my purchase history so I ended up having to contact Apple Support directly who were amazing and solved the problem.
