To catch a floating object
Hi everyone 👋 Does anyone know how to create the effect where there's a floating object then I catch it and have a real object in my hand at the end?

Hi everyone 👋 Does anyone know how to create the effect where there's a floating object then I catch it and have a real object in my hand at the end?
i want to do it more realistic
Creating the video you showed is very easy. This is a technique called "Match cut" that matches the position and outline of the subject you want to draw attention to.
What is the most difficult step for you?

You can do it with very precise position of the talent - you - but it if far easier if you just change the position of the camera, for example from a wide angle to a close shot. The viewer would be rather easily "fooled".
I was going to try and do a quick example, but my iPhone appears to be failing... after 8 years of loyal work, I may have to part with my trusted iPhone 7... and have a good excuse to get a new toy!
Of course the simplest and most realistic way is to do it as a magician would and not use FCP at all.
Get a friend (out of shot) to dangle a phone or other object fastened with "Magician's Thread" (which is a very fine almost invisible thread) and simply video yourself grabbing it.
Because of the phone's weight you may need more than one thread.
At a distance, cotton would probably be invisible.
Another method would be to have a confederate in a green suit holding the phone or waving it about.
Film the background first and then yourself grabbing the phone.
Place the background clip in the timeline with the grabbing clip above it and use the Green Screen keyer to key out the green suited assistant.
I’m not sure what would be the most difficult in what you mentioned (i'm new to video editing)
Please don't worry. The people who have been giving advice in this community for many years are not familiar with FCP operations from the beginning. You'll get better at it by repeating a lot of failures and verifications.👍
As Ian said, it's a good idea to be creative when shooting. As Luis said, how to "trick your brain" is important.

I don't know if it's the effect you want, but it's just an example. This is the story of a lucky butterfly disguised as an iPhone that reaches Luis.
Thank you for that tip! In fact, I’m not sure what would be the most difficult in what you mentioned (i'm new to video editing 😁), but I’ll try it out. If I struggle with it, I’ll text you—if you don’t mind
What object?
Have you seen a video showing the effect which we could watch?
Sorry for my english 😅 For example, my phone is floating in the top-right corner of the screen, then I reach out my hand and take the phone, and in the end, I have a real phone in my hand.
Haha thank you ! And enjoy your new iPhone 😁
You should. The cameras in the recent phones are unbeliveable.
That's not actually what i wanted, and i can't find an example unfortunately, but the idea with tracking is good, i will test it 👍
No one else can see the images in your head. If you can't show it with a concrete link video or rough cut, you'll have no choice but to solve it yourself.
I've found a video that's showing what i want to do, but i want to do it more realistic 😅
There's no quick way!
The theory is fairly simple involving several shots, careful positioning of the arm and superimposition of the floating phone but it's too complex to write down.
