Hi,
I have an iPhone 13 and for the last month or so every time I use markup on a photo it dramatically reduces the file size and you can see loss of image quality in the highlights of the photo making the image appear very flat. I use mark up lots and this has never been an issue until recently. I can’t figure out how to fix this. Can anyone help please? Thanks

Yes, can confirm. I have the same issue on the iPhone 13 mini with iOS 18.2.1.
When I add a shape (e.g.) to a photo and hit “done” the photo’s resolution decreases dramatically. E.g. from 2250px width to 1367px width—without warning.
It can only be redeemed by “reverting” all changes to the original.
