It's my understanding that Apple will need to issue an update to the software. No one here would know what their plan for that is. It's possible that they will be bundling it into an already planned update rather than rush a special one.

I have already informed my MP. I am not sure she can do much to hurry this up. This might be the real reason the Apple Watch heart update took so long.
