iPhone setting timer instead of alarm

Now that I updated my iPhone to iOS 17 when I ask my phone to set a 30 minute ALARM ⏰ for my lunch, it is sitting in a timer instead, which I do not like how do I fix this? I can snooze an alarm and know what time it’ll go off, but timer is just a countdown.

In my experience, yours may vary. I have to say, Siri please set an alarm, I have to say a time. So, “Siri, please (my mother taught be to always be polite 😀) set an alarm at 12:45 PM today.” Now I get an alarm.

If I say “Siri, please set an alarm for 45 minutes” I get a timer. If I say reminder, I can use either specific times or just say hours, minutes etc. Try it and let’s see what you experience.

Thank you for your advice. I sometimes don’t know the exact time unless I stop to do the math in my head which takes more work. I hope they fix this issue because before I could just say set alarm for 28 mins and bingo alarm ⏰ set. No math needed super easy but now they changed it which makes it more complicated for me when i want a quick task taken care of without any thought 💭 needed.
