FaceID stopped working after 18.1 update

Hello,

My FaceID stopped working after installing 18.1, and I hoped that the 18.1.1 update would fix it but it didn’t. I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Everything was working fine before the update.

I read that for someone the 18.1.1 fixed the issue but unfortunately it didn’t for me.

I tried restarting it multiple times, hard reset by pressing Volume Up -> Volume Down -> Power Button until Apple logo appears but to no avail.

Content & Privacy Restrictions are off too.

Does anyone have this issue specifically on the 16 Pro Max? Please help me.

Thanks

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

I contacted Apple Support and they ran some diagnostic function or analysis on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and found nothing. They did mention my phone needs service because of a “back layer display” issue? But my Face ID worked fine until my phone received the push that a new version (18.1.1).was available. I tried to reset my Face ID before running the update, but it’s as though everything “Face ID” is disabled somehow.

Face ID had quit working as soon as the last 3 update availability’s were pushed to my phone, but Face ID always came back when I ran and verified the updates. Until this update. It seems to have killed it. And I don’t have a clue what this “back layer display” issue could be.
