How do I find a lost email password so I can use it on a new phone

Hi,

My wife has a new iPhone 16 and wants to set up the email but she has an ancient email account (@sbcglobal.net) and we keep getting the message that we need a password for the email set up on the phone. I'm not certain what the password is but she gets her email now on her Mac (iMac w/ Sierra) with no problems, so the password must be on that machine somewhere.

How do I find the email pw on that mac?

I know it may be in the Keychain Access section but there seem to but lots of "passwords" stored there...some with ".com.apple etc" some with "imap.mail...." etc.....what should I be looking for?

I see passwords with a key symbol, some have the @ symbol, and some a pencil symbol...?

Any help really appreciated,

Alan.

I wish it was that easy!

SBCGlobal.net doesn't exist anymore and I've no idea, nor can I figure out who's taken it over (at&t maybe?). (A lot of misinformation on the net about this too.)

What's frustrating, as I say in the post, is that the pw must be in the iMac somewhere because that's where my wife gets all her email every day...she just doesn't know what it is!!

Thanks,

Alan.
