Logic Pro Alesis Nitro Max

I currently have a 2015 MacBook Pro on 12.7.6 and therefore don’t have the latest version of Logic.

My Alesis E drums crash Logic as soon as they’re turned on. There is a workaround (start recording before turning drums on and hitting a few pads) which works but minutes later Logic crashes anyway. So the kit is unusable as a midi controller - the whole reason I bought it.

I am considering getting an M4 Mini so I can update Logic, does anyone know if the above issues have been resolved on later versions? Whenever I google the issue the only hits are at least 3 years ago.

There are also midi note mapping issues which I’m also hoping may now have been resolved as again all search results are some years ago.
