Apple Pay not working

Tried Apple Pay on my watch for the first time in a while. All of the cards were available but the card reader would not accept the cards and an error message was shown on the card reader.

Card decline means your issuing bank declined the payment method. Contact your bank’s support team for more specific information. Apple is not a bank and can not approve or decline transactions. Only the issuing bank can decline a transaction.

If it said something else, it’s usually a merchant issue or issue with the merchant’s credit card processor.

I’m sorry I can’t be more specific.

Hi Jeff, thanks for replying. The same ‘cards’ on my iPhone worked fine so I presume it’s not an issue with the pos system or the banks. I have upgraded my iPhone in the last couple of months and had to re-add the cards for Apple Pay. Would this be associated with the issue? Not sure if the cards need to be deleted from the Apple Watch and added again.
