Apple may still be appealing the IP litigation loss but what is the backup? Will they develop oxygen sensing algorithms without the contest tech or pay licensing fees for the technology?

The patents expire in 2028. I can’t see spending $millions ($ billions?) to develop a new technology for 1 model year. It makes no economic sense. I suspect, if the appeal is denied, they’ll just wait it out.
The bottom line is Apple employees are not here. This community is a user assisting fellow user community. Those that truly know at Apple have all signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and don’t want to risk their job to leak what’s happening. I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait it out like the rest of us.
