I’m receiving messages RCS but then my reply is SMS

I noticed recently that with android users, I have been receiving their messages as RCS, with text bubbles being seen when they are responding, but then when I respond back, it sends as SMS.

I have tried resetting the RCS, I have completed closed and reopened the message app, I have turned off SMS, and I have turned my phone on and off.

I think it’s super strange that I’m receiving as RCS and can only send SMS. It shows that the RCS is working but I don’t know what else to do. Does anyone have a solution on fixing this.

I have a 13 pro, currently running on iOS 18.1 but about to update to beta 18.2

Perhaps instead of trying to upgrade your mac around this issue

hold fast, or try to update the original configuration first.. To go

past the first range of problems takes you into uncharted lands.

IF you had more than one identical Mac, then one could be used

as a Test. Instead of running the mess out of control w/o reverse.

Review original or near similar Update Support articles; try again.

Have you restarted your Mac in Safe mode?

.I'd never run a Beta on my only workable hardware.

I was getting the run around from Verizon on the phone and Apple in store. I eventually walked down to a Verizon kiosk in the mall where the Apple Store is. The guy there said he’s seeing this multiple times/day with iPhone 13 specifically. He fixed the issues but said it was likely to happen again, and I wasn’t willing to risk that because I’m having surgery and text my doctor if I need anything while he’s home. He has an android, so I upgraded
