Exporting photos from Photos App on Mac to Desktop

I am attempting to export a video from the photos app on my Macbook Pro (M1). I opened the photos app, sort by videos and click on the video I want to export from a certain date. (All thumbnails and date blacked out in picture). When i click on the video and try to export it, the first one always works. After the first one, when I try to select another video and export, it continues to only export the first video I selected. I have attempted to restart my mac. This happens regardless of if I'm exporting, or exporting the original; as well as if I'm using keyboard shortcuts or going to File -> Export in the top ribbon.

I have attempted restarting my Mac, and after that, it will only export the first (IMG_0460 in Ex1) or last (IMG_0504 in Ex1) .MOV file. I was able to get a few other videos to export (Ex2) by just brute forcing this until it worked, but now I've hit a wall.

Any help would be appreciated.

I tried exporting videos one at a time, 3 and then 3, using Days filtered by video, and using Media Types Videos. It worked for me every time. I can't repeat your problem. I'm in macOS 15.1

The first things to try are these:

  • Restart the computer (of course, you did this)
  • Re-start in Safe Mode. This bypasses certain potentially disruptive processes. Safe Mode is different for different computers, so see this:

Those are the most important things to try. Then try these:

  • Use another library if you have one, or make a small test Library with a few pictures in it and see if the same thing happens. You can create a new Library by closing Photos and then option-clicking on the Photos icon.
  • Make a new user and see if the same problem recurs with it
  • Rebuild your Photos Library--close Photos and re-launch by option-command-clicking the app icon.

The idea is to find out if the problem is with the Library, with your account, or with caches and login items, and stuff like that. One of these steps may fix the problem, but their failure to work also helps figure out what's happening.
