Iphone sometimes continues to play music when I put my airpods in the case

I saw a previous thread saying the exact same thing that is now locked. It had replies that were years old. Is this really being ignored by Apple?

Super annoying, sometimes when I put my airpods back in their case the music continues to play on the phone with the same volume as the phone was set to. If this is maximum the music blasts off very loud. Super embarrassing. A fix that I have been using is that before I put my airpods in my ear I pull down the control center and puts the volume to 0. But this shouldn't been a thing for such products.

Just to add, phone is Iphone 14 Pro and Airpod Pro...
