Private browsing greyed out in Safari

The private window option is greyed out in Safari and the short cut doesn't work either.

That normally means you have Screen Time Restrictions in place and have limited the types of websites that can be accessed.


Check System Settings ➜ Screen Time ➜ (Restrictions) Content and Privacy ➜ App Store, Media, Web, & Games ➜ Access to Web Content and make sure it's set to "Unrestricted". Otherwise Private Browsing is disabled.
