Cant open photos in misc pic apps even though the apps have full access.
This happened with IOS 18.1. Went to security and all the apps as always have full access and nothing happens when I try to open a photo in any other app. This is happening on my iPhone 16 pro Max as well as my iPad M4. So it’s definitely a bug unless I’m missing a setting.
iPad Pro (M4, 2024)
Try the following in order as needed:
1 - launch your library with the Option+Command keys held down and repair the library. The see if the problem persist.
2 - as a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread.
3 - boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't reboot normally and test again.
Note: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will assure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
Apparently the apps you are having problems with are not Apple products. Your best bet would be to contact the designers of those apps-- they would have much more experience with their own apps,

Perhaps you should get rid of apps from companies that don't support their work. You haven't said, but I'm assuming that Photos is working OK. It certainly does on my phone, iPad, and Mac. The Photos app is not involved in using other apps.
You don’t think it’s the Apple software since it started the same day I downloaded IOS 18.1 ?
Btw: it’s only photos. I can select any other of my apps and open them in word, docusign, etc. . Just photo to photo editing.

What did the other app people say?
I have about 10 different apps and some it’s not so easier to find their contact. But the fact that it’s only photos that is not working, it must be the photos app
It’s on my iPhone and iPad.
Opps. I missed that in the first post. My reply was for a library on a Mac, desktop or laptop. 🤭
I know you. You’ve been around forever. Someone suggestion delete the apps get rid of them, but I’m not taking off Photoshop.
