Ethernet connection error on iMac

I receive this message: Your device couldn't connect to the server. There may be a problem with the server or network.

I have turned off iMac, unplugged modem, waited, plugged back in. I still get this message. I am on ethernet connection.

What Mac model and year do you have?

What system are you running?

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Have you tried a different ethernet cable?

Have you tried connecting via WiFi?
