Toggle to previous tab in Safari

Hi,

As someone who frequently switches between multiple tabs, I find it challenging to sequentially toggle through all open tabs. Alternatively, using tab numbers to navigate isn’t practical in a busy, productive environment where remembering the tab count is difficult.

It would be extremely beneficial to have a feature that allows quick toggling between the current tab and the last active tab. Additionally, an efficient way to navigate through recently used tabs with a preview would greatly enhance productivity.

Is there any plan to implement such features in Safari soon, or is this type of functionality outside the current scope for the browser?

Currently, Safari doesn't have a feature to toggle to the last active tab. To make tab switching easier, you might want to focus on organizing and managing your tabs more effectively. For example, you can use Option + Command + Up/Down to switch between different tab groups, and Left/Right to switch between tabs within the same group.

As for previewing recently used tabs, Safari does have a similar feature, which is to right-click a tab group and select Show Tab Overview. This is a bit different from what you're asking for, so it might not fully meet your needs.
