I have a 2017 IMac running Ventura 13.7.1 and just ordered a Mini. I assume the Mini will arrive with Sequoia pre installed so I need to upgrade my IMac to Sequoia, but get no Sequoia option when I go to software update.

No what?

No, you can't upgrade a 2017 iMac to Sequoia. Ventura is the newest system it can run.

You don't need to to move the user files from your iMac to the Mini. Here's how to do it:

1 - make sure you have a current and full Time Machine backup of your iMac.

2 - connect the Time Machine drive to the new Mini before turning it on.

3 - turn on the Mini and proceed with setting it up. When you get to the point where you're asked from where you want to transfer the user files indicate Time Machine.

4 - follow the instructions from there.
