turn of apple tv with remote

Sometimes my TV and the Apple TV do not recognize each other anymore. The HDMI-CEC simply does not work always.

So then I cannot look at the screen and want to reboot the apple tv with the remote.

Again: i cannot see anything on the screen.

In the past holding the on/off button for some time worked fine to turn the apple tv off

and the internet suggests holding menu (<) and home (Tv icon) together for some time.

But somehow in the recent moths these features seem to have been removed. Does anybody know how to reboot my apple tv without having to unplug it.
